Sephora Mini Haul

Because... Birthday Gift Cards!

When I turned 30 last month, I received a gift card to Sephora. Since becoming a minimalist, I have taught myself to become more intentional with my purchases to decrease the clutter. I have also learned to only get what I need from the store. Since I didn't have anything in particular that I wanted, I thought I could just wander around the store a bit until I ran into something.

Well, that turned out to be a big mistake.

When I tried to go in the store, I was quickly overwhelmed by all of the choices and retreated back home to shop from the comfort of my computer - while saving a few dollars by using EBates. It also gave me a real chance to re-evaluate my beauty collection and replace the things I really needed with some products I really wanted to try.

I'm not a huge fragrance wearer, but I do like to have a few options on my vanity. Over the past few years, I have purchased mini fragrance sets instead of the larger, pricier options because it literally took me 5 years to go through 1 fl.oz. bottle.

So services like ScentBird that send 30 day samples for $15/month are perfect for people like me. Through that subscription service, I was introduced to Versace Bright Crystal and have been hooked ever since.

My ScentBird sample had ran out the day of my birthday and, luckily, Sephora happened to the perfect gift set for my to replace my beloved scent and try a few more. The set includes 0.17 fl. oz samples of:
  • VERSACE Crystal Noir
  • VERSACE Bright Crystal
  • VERSACE Yellow Diamond
  • VERSACE Bright Crystal Absolu
Considering the mini size rollerball begins at $28, This gift set of four parfume's is a steal at $36!

My skincare regimen has been pretty consistent over the past few years and this shopping trip gave me the perfect opportunity to try a few new skincare products as well.

I'm always on the lookout for skin serums and moisturizers, so imagine my excitement when I found Farsali's Rose Gold Elixir and Unicorn Essence Serum. I had never heard of Farsali prior to this experience, but I'm glad I stumbled upon it. This stuff is packed with antioxidants and fruit extracts that will leave your skin hydrated and smooth.

The Rose Gold Elixir works as a moisturizer, while the Unicorn Essence can be used as a moisturizer and primer.

I wanted to try both, but the full sizes run $60 a bottle. Since gift cards (and my wallet) have limited funds, I decided to purchase the mini version of each of the Farsali serums at $20 a piece. Personally, I think they will last me a while because a little goes a long way.

Because Sephora is the gift that keeps on giving, I was sent a sample of the BELIF Moisturizing Eye Bomb. I always appreciate samples that take care of my under eye area, because I'm getting old, ya'll, and I need all of the help I can get.

Although this is a sample, I feel like I can get 3-4 weeks of product out of this, because (as with most products) a little goes a long way.
