Caramelized Pears Over Cinnamon Roll Waffles

Because... Waffles are good any time of the day.

My 1.5 year old (close to 20 months for the super technical folks) loves to "help" us. It really doesn't matter what we're doing, he loves just loves to be in the mix - especially in the kitchen.

Recently, he discovered how to say, "Can I have wapples?" instead of, "Good Morning." So waffles are pretty much a staple for us at any point in the day.

Not to long ago, I made this easy Peach Cobbler Dumplings recipe, and immediately knew I wanted to try to wrap fruit in refrigerated cinnamon roll dough. I may get around to that one day, but today, my baby wants waffles.

A little while ago we discovered cinnamon rolls can be baked in the waffle maker in about 4 minutes.

Talk about a life changing moment!

Not only can we cut the baking time in half, but the cinnamon roll waffles also make a great pie base.

Since we had a few ripe pears in the fridge (and I needed a quick and easy pear recipe for dessert), it seemed like the perfect time to make cinnamon roll waffles topped with caramelized pears. This recipe is so good that I almost didn't share it, because it's addictive... but sharing is caring, right?

As we all know, the kitchen can be an especially dangerous place for little sous chefs, so adult supervisor is an absolute must.

My little taste tester enjoyed this easy recipe so much that we may even have the cinnamon roll waffles again for breakfast.

Before you read the instructions, be warned that this recipe will not last long. We ate three of the 8 servings while I was trying to photograph the pear recipe because little hands kept creeping into my shots to steal food. I think it's hilarious, but if you're making this for a holiday party or large group, consider making way more.
