Because... it's the end of summer.
I can't believe it! By the time this week is over, it will officially be fall.
Before the summer closes, we picked up of a few seasonal favorites, but today I'm going to share my watermelon strawberry breakfast smoothie.
My little guy has 8 teeth coming in at once, which means he doesn't always eat as much during meals.
We figured out a while ago that smoothies are a great way to make sure he's still getting a good amount of nutrition until the teething phase passes.
It's also a great way to sneak in fruits & vegetables. I also l add a bit of oatmeal to our smoothie's as a little bonus.
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 Cup oatmeal
- 1 Cup watermelon chunks
- 1 Cup of yogurt (I used strawberry, but plain or vanilla is fine)
- 3-5 Strawberries
- 1/2 Cup Vanilla Almond Milk
- 3-4 ice cubes (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Put all of the ingredients in a blender for 1 minute on high
- Pour it into cups and garnish with strawberries and watermelon, if you're feeling fancy
