Strawberry Watermelon Lemonade Slush

Because... This watermelon isn't going to eat itself.
In case you're new around here, let me get you up to speed.

I created an accidental series of watermelon recipes, because we bought what we thought to be a decent sized watermelon for four people that turned out to be able to feed a small multitude.

Did I also mention said watermelon had been forgotten in our garage refrigerator for about a week? So, we need to get rid of this thing rather quickly.

You may or may not yourself in the same predicament, but in case you are (and even if you're not)... You should also check out my Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie.

But since you came here for a Strawberry Watermelon Lemonade Slush recipe. Here it is.

  • 4-6 Cups Watermelon
  • 1 1/2 Cups Fresh (or frozen) Strawberries
  • 1/2 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 2-3 Cups of Crushed Ice

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine lemon juice and sugar in a medium pan and boil until all the sugar has dissolved. Set aside to cool.
  2. Crush the ice, then Puree watermelon and strawberries.
  3. Mix in the lemon/sugar syrup.
  4. Serve immediately or freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  5. If freezing: Remove the pitcher from the freezer and allow the drink to thaw for about 1 hour. It should thaw enough for you to remove from the pitcher and puree in the blender. Serve.
BONUS: If you have any leftover's, put it in a popsicle mold for your kiddos.
